We are a friendly group of people who ring the bells in three churches in Harrogate; St Wilfrid’s in Duchy Road, St Peter’s in the town centre and St Michael’s in Beckwithshaw. Some of us also ring handbells.
We are officially three separate bands, each being an active part of our own church communities; however many of us belong to more than one band and regularly help each other out on Sundays, at practices and for ringing on special occasions. We also have joint social occasions.
Our bell ringers are members of the Yorkshire Association of Change Ringers, one of the largest territorial ringing associations covering all the church bells in the whole of Yorkshire. Harrogate comes under Leeds and District Branch.
Visitors are welcome to our practices and Sunday ringing. Ringers who are staying in Harrogate for conferences and exhibitions frequently join us.
